Personal History		Casey Severide was born in the wee hours of the morning, to Amber Severide, and Peter Severide, who wasn’t there for his birth. He was on a freight heading out into deep space on some crackpot make it rich scheme. Peter's best friend Thomas Gettz, was there helping Amber with the child, 2 years later they were married after Peter went missing. Thomas adopted Casey and his 6 year old sister, Miranda Severide. It was not a happy or good relationship, Casey and Miranda were constantly beaten by Thomas who was drunk. His mother was sick and couldn’t fight him. She would later die when Casey was 14. Casey and Miranda dealt with the beating until Miranda was 18 and moved out and entered Starfleet, in the Medical field, she would later become the Head nurse on the USS Gangrel. After she left the beating increased, he would often go to school with a black eye or cuts. When he was 17 year and 11 months old, Thomas went to beat him and Casey had enough and beat up Thomas, breaking the man's jaw, 4 ribs and collapsing one of Thomas' lungs. He was arrested and charged as an adult, sentencing him to 4 years after the father said there was a pattern of abuse from Casey to Thomas. His sister was out on a deep space mission and was not able to get there in time as a witness for Casey. While in New Zealand Penal Settlement, where he was assaulted continuously because he was born on Luna. He would defend himself but ended up in the prison infirmary more times than he could count. He was popular with the guards as his knack with computers and electronic repairs made him a valuable resource. He was released and he worked odd jobs trying to earn a living. He worked as a maintenance man at a hospital and did a repair shop out of his home. At 26 he was placed in charge of his sister’s 10-year-old daughter, Melissa after the ship was attacked, she was one of 50 to survive the attack. It was a difficult adjustment for both of them but after the hospital closed and the repair business wasn’t enough he was forced to look elsewhere. That’s when Starfleet Academy became an option. He joined up and spent the next 5 years sending all of his earnings to support her. He kept his nose clean those 5 years as he took care of Melissa. She traveled to his different post with him. He was on the USS Ragronok a multipurpose tanker ship, as Gamma shift Engineering officer. He declined promotion because most posts were on Escort or Cruisers that didn’t have room for civilians or families.
