Personality & Traits
| General Overview | Tellarites consider "arguing" as a "competitive sport" and refer to it as "intelligent dialog". Often to start an argument they will begin by complaining about something and then ramp up into insults. This isn't meant to be malicious though it may sound that way to non-Tellarites. Tellarites also tend to be stubborn (the term "pig-headed" is often used of them). All of this taken together can make Tellarites seem perpetually grumpy. | |
| Strengths & Weaknesses | Strengths: Advanced senses of smell and hearing (when compared to Humans). They have a preternatural gift for spacial orientation. Tellarites also frequently have a stronger grasp of engineering principles, especially with regard to mining, drilling, and irrigation. Also, nearly all Tellarites are ambidextrous (and sometimes cannot understand why others might prefer one hand over another). Weaknesses: Tellarites generally have poor visual acuity (when compared to Humans), even while they seem to have the above-mentioned preternatural spacial orientation skills. They also have a higher metabolism and so prefer a higher normal room temperature (and thereby are likely to complain that "normal" room temperature is chilly). |
