Captain Phoenix gave control over to Tianuwa so she could take a moment to pull her thoughts together. She went to her ready room sat at her desk. Her head in her hands a moment. She then hit the button on the drawer, pulled out her bourbon, a tumbler and poured two fingers. Just enough to help clear her thoughts. Taking a large swallow almost to the point of making an actual gulping sound. Ravynn placed the bottle back in the drawer and released a deep sigh.
How in the hell did they go from a celebration to a fast track of hell. Caught in another universe where they don't exist yet and finding themselves in the future where their past selves failed. It was enough to give any sane person whiplash.
She swallowed the last of her bourbon put the tumbler back in the drawer and closed it.
Her away team would be leaving momentarily and she needed to get back to the bridge but not before getting a black coffee. Was she making the same mistake? Would they be anymore successful this time than the last? She would not be a good Captain if she didn't second guess herself faced with the knowledge they held before sending her crew, her family to their possible deaths.
A drink of her coffee and a along a deep cleansing breath before she slid the doors open to re-enter the bridge. May the gods watch over us all.
