Personal (Back) Log: Calling home.
By: Lt. Heather Argeneau, M.D.

Unfortunately, being beyond a barrier calling home wasn't as simple as sitting before one's console and activating comms to communicate with family. However, Heather could record a message to be sent home to her family once the border crossing was complete. This was the current recording:

.....

For, Heather could not think of what to say, having sat before her console for quite some time after her shift trying to figure out where to start. Standing up she walked over to Amelia Rose and Magnus Lucian, Magnus was sleeping, but Amelia was fussy. Picking up her child and holding her close Amelia settled down with a yawn.

Heather smiled as she walked her child over to the in-suit kitchen on the quarters she shared with her husband, who was also asleep in the bed at the moment, and got a bottle out to warm. Humming an old lullaby softly as she waited for the bottle to warm she thought of what to say to her parents.

Testing the heated contents of the bottle on her wrist Heather found that it was sufficient and started to feed her child. Retaking her seat with the feeding baby in her arms she resumed her attempt to communicate home.

Recording:

"Hey mom, dad, I hope everything is well, I am sure that this along with all other messages will reach you soon. we are approaching the barrier on our return trip to our side of the universe rather than continuing. With repairs and upgrades, not to mention refueling in the works. I suspect that we will be visiting DS9 will be for longer than a week, possibly two full weeks of R&R.

I must admit, I am looking forward to it. I was thinking of coming home for a visit rather than just remaining at DS9. I am unsure if Magnus will be joining us or not, but I know that Amelia and Magnus Jr. are looking forward to seeing you, I swear I even saw a smile the other day when I mentioned it." Heather said into the recording. "It should not be long now, I miss you all and I hope to see you soon."

"Computer end recording, save for transmission once we're through the barrier and close enough to send," Heather said hearing the computer beep in response.

"Soon my sweets, very soon you'll see your grandparents, and the rest of the family, let us hope that your father will be able to join us."
