Location: Engineering, Ready Room

Joint Duty Log: Decisions, Decisions.

Thea was moving around Engineering preferring the quiet of her workspace to the crew lounge on some days. While she enjoyed getting her hands dirty she was glad when she didn't have to worry about the engines. She turned her attention back to the refractive armor she's been trying to improve upon.

The Captain moved to her ready room waiting for the away team to report back. Even if they caught up to Kai they would still need a science officer. She had Miss Lionmane buy she was on the away team and with Heather expecting... Putting her head in her hands for a brief meditation to slow her mind before she made herself crazy. Her gut feeling after meditation said to approach Thea Queen. "But was she ready?" Ravynn mumbled to herself. "++Ens Queen++ come to my ready room please." Letting out a sigh and hoping her gut was not wrong this time.

Thea frowned wondering if she was in trouble again, +Captain Phoenix+ "I'm on my way captain." came Thea's response as she saved her program and turned to leave Main Engineering. She took the lift up to the bridge and walked across the open area to the ready room. She hit the chime to let the captain know she was outside the door.

"enter" Ravynn had a drink for Thea ready and some sandwiches. She knew she was hungry and figured Thea might be as well.
Thea had entered. "Please, have a seat. Grab a sandwich if you like. There are four different kinds so take your pick."

"Um thank you, captain," Thea said not having expected this but she wasn't about to say no. She reached for the glass of half and half sweet tea and half of an egg salad sandwich before taking her seat. "How can I help you, Captain?" Thea asked wondering if it was something to do with Engineering but with Smoke on board if that were the case then wouldn't the captain have called Smoke to her ready room rather than herself.

Swallowing her food and taking a drink of tea before beginning. "As you know Kai has gone AWOL. We need someone who will be dedicated to science. Lt. Lionmane is on the away team as adjunct medical personnel. I'm wondering if you would feel comfortable going back to science? If not I will completely understand."
She took another bite and washed it down.

Thea listened eyes widening slightly as she took a bite of the sandwich. She had heard that Kai had simply disappeared without a word to anyone or even permission. However, this request actually did surprise her. While she loved working in Engineering, Thea had to admit she did miss working in science. "Can I continue to work on the refractive shielding if I'm back in Science?" She asked with a slight smile before taking another bite of her egg salad sandwich.

Swallowing the last bite of her sandwich. "I wouldn't have it any other way. Only it can't interfere with daily duties. Take a day or two to think about it if you need to. I don't want you to have any doubts. Also please feel free to ask any questions or talk about concerns you may have before accepting." Shifting into a more comfortable position.

"I'll be honest," Thea said after swallowing the bite in her mouth, "The only concern I have is that I'm not strong enough or far enough over my previous addiction to white," Thea told her captain honestly.

"Thank you for that acknowledgment, however, I don't think that will be an issue. There's no trace of it in the lab anymore. It was moved and locked up. Kai and I are the only ones who have access to it. If it's needed requisition for it has to come through me and me alone. I don't ever want that to be an issue for anyone." Taking a large pull of her tea she swallowed. "Is there anything else I can answer for you?"

"No captain, I have no further questions, that make me feel so much better to know." Thea said with a nod, "I will consider it and let you know before my next duty shift." Thea said with a nod knowing this was a big decision to move back to Science.

The Captain gave Thea a polite nod. "I know I'm asking a lot but as of right now I have no one else to turn to and I trust you or I would not be asking. Thank you for taking this request into consideration. Dismissed Ensign" said with a soft smile.

"I understand Captain, thank you," Thea said with a smile and a slight blush at the praise in that statement. She reached for the other half of the egg salad sandwich before turning to leave still considering the captain's words.
