. Meanwhile, Lance had picked up something on her scans. Core noticed it too, pointing it out to Lance. Targus picked up on their interaction and moved to look at the readings as well. Lance whispered to Core, "Think you can determine the source of this signal?"

. Targus scowled, checking Core's and Lance's readings against his own scanner. He grumbled in his Russian-like accent, "Something dere, yes?"

. Core whispered, "Searching now, it may be a technology we haven't seen yet. Found an anomaly among the humanoids but re-scanning to find out."

. Suddenly, Adon had a stroke of insight. He blurted out to Solus, "Do you mark bad people this way?" He tapped his forehead tattoo.

. Solus just nodded the affirmative.

. But Morgensen had noticed Thea and Maud. He tapped Adon on the shoulder, then indicated Thea. As Adon got the hint, Morgensen spoke to Solus, "Yes. Far above, orbiting your planet, and admiring our first encounter with an advanced species this far from our home."

. As Adon approached Thea, Maud told him, "Adon, check the pulse in her wrist. I think her arm is dislocated."

. Off to the side, Lance, Core, and Targus were still scanning, searching for the anomalous signal they'd detected. Lance said, "It's not that far away. Maybe we can ask the locals for a ... um ... tour?"

. Core gave a quick nod and stepped back over to where the others were speaking to Solus. "Can we have a tour of your magnificent place?" He glanced at Morgensen, then lowered his gaze, not sure if he should have spoken up like that.

. Adon took Thea's pulse, then said, "Yeah, the pulse is a little thready, but I think she'll be okay until we can get back to the ship. Winged, but okay. You need anything for pain?"

. Solus leaned over and asked, "Is she fragile?"

. A voice came over the open commlink from the ship. It was Cmdr. Oliver Queen, Thea's brother, who said, "She's not fragile, she's my sister!" There was a pause, then a hushed, "Oops, forgot that was open both ways at the moment."

. Thea rolled her eyes at her brother's comments, then scowled up at the willowy alien, giving him a glare before turning to Adon. "Yeah, I'm fine 'til we get back to the ship."

. Morgensen turned to Thea and Solus and gave a slight smile and a nod. "Many races from where we come from are, physically. I think the two of you surprised each other. I assure you we meant no intrusion or ill will. We had no way of knowing your sentience until you revealed it to us."

. Maud mentioned to Adon, "Might want to reset it for her." She turned to Solus and said, "No, not fragile. Her arm was injured accidentally."

. Adon glanced at Maud, then Thea, then back to Maud, before saying softly, "This might not be the place, or the time, just yet."

. Maud muttered back, "She cannot defend herself with a dislocated arm."

. "I can fix her," Solus said and reached out toward her with his long, willowy arms.

. Thea jumped back, "The hell!" She placed herself behind Morgensen to keep the plant from getting near her.

. Core flinched towards them, his posture going from defensive to offensive. His gaze flicked over the flower-people scanning for weaknesses.

. "Wait!" Adon called to Solus.

. Morgensen also moved to intervene, his hand going to the phaser on his hip. "Solus, just as your people respectfully wish not to be touched, I must ask you to show the same respect to ours."

. Solus lowered his arms. "I was trying to fix, not harm."

. Adon raised both hands. "Wait! I don't want misunderstandings! It's nice you wanted to help fix her, but ... we'd rather tend to our own, for now, at least. Just as we don't know you, you don't know us."

. Solus seemed edgy now too. He said, "You come poking and snatching what is not yours to touch. I offer to help and you treat me as threat?"

. Core, in his attack stance, seemed surprised by Solus' comment. Realizing he was being aggressive, he relaxed his stance and said, "Solus, I am sorry, very sorry."

. Morgensen tried to soothe him. "Respectfully, Solus, we had no idea any sentient life was on this planet until you revealed yourselves. Can we come to an agreement that we shall not touch anything without your consent to do so, and in turn, you will not touch us without our consent?"

. Suddenly, Lance broke out in song, doing a little dance step with it. "Why can't we be friends? Why can't we be friends?"

. Seeing that the doctor wasn't treating his patient, and growing impatient herself, Maud stepped back over to Thea and asked, "May I reset your arm? I need you at your best."

. But Thea wasn't listening to Maud. Instead, she barked at Solus, "You hide in flower form tricking people who are unaware and looking for samples! How do you expect anyone to trust you? Had I known what you were I'd have not come near you. How was I to know you weren't a flower?" She growled, still clutching her arm close. She finally turned to look at Maud and shook her head. "Thanks, but it's not really broken, just had felt like it was broken. You know, like when something thin and whip like hits you suddenly, the pain is sharper than it really is." She gave the Marine a soft smile.

. Targus ignored them all, focused on his scanner and the anomalous readings they'd picked up. He grumbled, "There vas something ... dat vay, yes?" He pointed off to the side.

. Morgensen lowered his hand from where it rested on the handle of his phaser so that it lay along his thigh again. He gave a soft sigh and said, "I understand you wish to fix the harm caused, and it is in our nature to do the same." He turned to the injured Science Officer. "Thea? Will you let him look at it, at least?"
