Joint Duty (back) Log: Learning to Trust
By: Cmdr. Magnus Morgensen, Ens. Thea Queen, & Solus (played by Phoenix)

Thea blinked up at the Commander then looked to Solus distrust clouding her eyes considering that moments before the vine-like whip had struck her arm had been just a flower alongside other flowers. "Your kidding? You want me to let the ones who injured me, to begin with, look at the injury?" She asked him wide-eyed in surprise wondering if this was, commonplace or not.

She couldn't help but wonder how he'd react if it had been his wife standing in her place? Hell her brother had sounded angry at her being injured but that could have been just her imagination really.

Morgensen stared at her with a bit of shock himself, bewildered by the fact she was so adamant about not allowing wrongs to be righted. "I'm quite serious, Thea. If all of this was quite simply accidental, then why would I not be willing to put aside these incidents and let them make an effort to correct the mistakes?"

He wasn't certain about their intentions, but something in his gut told him they were sincere and didn't mean any harm to anyone on the Away Team. Both parties were taken by surprise, and things quite easily spiraled to tense stares and possible hostilities. That was not what Morgensen wanted. They are explorers, far beyond the Great Barrier. Granted, he was still curious about the potential violation of their Prime Directive, but at this point, it was too late to take that into consideration.

Thea listened to the commander as he spoke his argument, despite her annoyance she did understand where he was coming from after all first contacts were a sensitive business, to begin with.

Although, Thea didn't know that the sunflowers would attack or switch to humanoid form was not the point here. Thea had a tricorder for a reason, which, could have prevented the altercation with the Chlorivan, Morgensen wasn't using that in his argument to let Solus see to the arm.

Thea gave a sigh looking towards Solus again with distrust in her eyes after all they had been hiding in plain sight, as her favorite flower. It's one of the reasons that Thea hadn't thought to use her tricorder first which was a rookie move. "Alright, alright, you've made your point." Thea shook her head. "But if he makes it worse I hold you, responsible sir," Thea told him with a slight smirk for her friend Heather's husband.

Magnus chuckled softly, shaking his head for a minute before he took a knee next to Thea and offered to help her back to her feet. "I have no reason to suspect Solus would make things any worse intentionally... however, I do have to advise that you be extremely careful, Solus... I wouldn't want anything to escalate tensions between us." His gaze remained on Thea, specifically her arm, as he spoke and helped her to her feet so Solus could examine it.

Thea let Magnus help her up with a nod and turned to face Solus with a bit of hesitancy, but did not flinch or back away from the offered help of the intriguing alien.

Once the young woman saw reason, Solus gently took her hand. Her skin felt as his, warm, sun-kissed. "Relax young one, I do not mean mistrust or harm." Feeling her relax he allowed his arms to turn back to broad leaves; wrapping around her lower arm. The fine needle-like hairs entered her skin he began applying pressure until his leaf-like arms looked like green bandages on her arm.
Almost as quickly as it started it had ended.
"There, how does that feel?" He smiled warmly.

Thea managed to resist the urge to pull back when the leaves started to wrap around her like a bandage. She'd wait and see what happened. She didn't feel a thing though, it felt amazing when the leaves pulled back though. "Oh My Goddess, that feels amazing better than new!" Thea said looking over to Morgensen so he could scan her arm and see if it really was healed.

Solus nodded to see the young woman was pleased. "Shall we head to the festivities?" He swept his hand in a gesture for the group to walk in the direction of where their other two crew members were.

Pulling out his tricorder to scan Thea's arm, his eyes widened a bit and he chuckled to himself a bit. "Well, I'll be! It's as good as new! See, Thea? Sometimes you just have to be able to show a bit of trust, even to a complete stranger... it's a hard thing to do, I know, but... diplomacy is often just as risky." He looked over to Solus with a nod. "I appreciate it, thank you. Please, after you..."

Giving a polite nod, Solus led the group in the direction of the ones they called Lance and Targus.

Thea gave him a playful punch with her newly tended arm. "Go tend to your pregnant wife you pain!" She said in a playful tone of mock annoyance. Following Solus to the meal that was waiting for them.
