Duty Log: The Power Behind the War.
By: Lt. Heather Argeneau, M.D.
Ens. Random was monitoring the activity during the war. The information he was getting was a real eye-opener for where they've found themselves. The difference in history from what he knew was also interesting, as it turns out that Romulans never left Vulcan to create Romulus or Remus. The Vulcans were as much a warrior race as the Klingons, if not more so. Surak was head of the Vulcan high command.
Duras, son of Ja'rod, and leader of the House of Duras, was the Klingon high chancellor instead of Gowron after Duras murdered Gowron during peace talks during the Klingon civil war. Now he was in control and currently plotting Surak's assassination. Duras was in the high chancellor's office with members of his council, and from what Ens. Random was hearing a few Suliban.
"What are the Suliban doing here?" Ens. Random asked himself. This, however, was something he still couldn't answer at the moment. His fingers moved over the console switching, from the Klingon communication to the Vulcan high command, and frowned.
The Vulcan council was discussing the war and where to move their ships. V'Las was the head of the council, and from the sound of the discussion, these Vulcan's were far the calm emo er logical Vulcan's that they were used to dealing with. The Suliban was there as well.
"You think the Klingons are going to take prisoners if you surrender? They plan on taking the power in this quadrant and they have no intention of sharing they already plan to name this planet chalwI' (Victory over Enemies)." The suliban was saying.
"Hard for them to rename our planet if we beat them back!" One of the Vulcan's yelled, ready for the fight ahead.
"We'll use this nebula to mask our signatures and move in behind their forces. T'Pel and her fleet will meet them head-on we'll pin them down and finish this war!" V'Las told his council earning a warcry that would put a Klingon to shame.
Ens. Random continued to scan the communications while trying to clear up the static didn't sound right to him, working to clean up the static. His fingers moved over the console running a spectral analysis on the communication that he was recording.
"I've gotta report this..." Ens. Random said hurrying to find Lt. Targus.
Elsewhere:
Silik stood with his second and most trusted advisor stood at his side. For centuries his people had been treated as second-class citizens by most of the species out there. Now was the time for them to come back out of the shadows and make a place for themselves. The two were studying the charts of the space between the alpha and beta quadrants.
"How is the drilling on Vulcan?" Silik asked Raan as he looked up at his number two.
"Slowly, however, the portable holo-emitters are working, and the war is taking up everyone's attention. No one has any idea we're drilling to the core or that the red matter found is being prepped," Raan told his commanding officer and friend.
"Good, the Xindi weapon is almost ready. Once that hits the core of the planet, it's going to create a shock wave we'll need to pull our ships out as far as Nimbus and Qo'Nos. The destruction wave is going to take in Andoria, Sol, Tzenketh, Bajor, Chin'Toka. However, it will barely touch Cardassia, the Cardassians could be a problem for us later." Silik said as he studied the map. "Once the air has cleared we can rebuild on Bolarus or one of the Klingon worlds." Silik explained.
Silik looked up as the doors opened and another Suliban entered, "Commander Silik, an unknown ship has entered our patrol area," The female Suliban said.
"Break off contact two of our ships to join us and let us see what these unknowns are about," Silik frowned.
