Doctor Calum Ramsay
Lieutenant Thea Queen
Wakey Wakey

Calum had been monitoring Thea’s vitals closely since she was brought on board. Ensuring that all of her readings nearly matched her last known medical scan, considering the trauma she had gone through to base her current levels as ‘normal’ enough. Opting not to let the Captain know he was going to rouse her, just in case she wanted some time to sort herself out before being interrogated, he didn’t bother ringing her up.

Crossing sickbay, he approached Thea’s biobed with a hypospray in hand. Pausing at the side of it, he activated the privacy field around it, preventing anyone from hearing and seeing inside. With one last, long look at her readings, he pressed the injector against her neck and activated the device. It shouldn’t be an immediate awakening, at least it wasn’t his intention. But with what he had discovered in her medical history, he wasn’t sure how she was going to react.

While in the medically induced coma, Thea had relived most of what she’d experienced during the fight with the borg and her brother shoving her into an escape pod before attempting to get into one as well. The runabout had exploded before she could determine if he’d made it within or not. “Oliver!” She screamed as she sat upright in the biobed she currently occupied. Thea looked around panting as she did so her eyes landing on the only person near at hand, yet unfamiliar. “Wh… where am I? Wh..what happened?”

Cal put on his friendliest, most disarming expression he could, “You’re safe, you’re on board the Roddenberry.” He set the hypospray aside before holding his hands up to show they were empty. “I’m Calum, the Roddenberry’s doctor. We found you adrift in an escape pod, you were hurt and malnourished. That was a few days ago. How are you feeling? Any pains I need to be worried about? We took care of your injuries, but I didn’t want to wake you until your vitals signs normalized.”

Thea closed her eyes to try to focus her thoughts and get herself centered, “Oliver, Is he here? Is he alright?” She asked licking her dry lips, hell she ached all over, but that could be from just laying in this bio-bed for goddess only knew how long, or from the injuries that he’d said they’d repaired she wasn’t sure… “Gods I hurt all over…” She muttered as she waited for an answer about her brother…

“Oliver? I haven’t met any Oliver yet, so he could be on board,” he replied softly. “As for the pain, you had taken quite a beating before or during your escape. You had a rather gnarly contusion on your head. Probably some kind of explosion that bounced you around the inside of your pod.” He turned away to gather a few items that he loaded into a hypospray. “This is a mild analgesic, it’ll help with any pain you’re feeling.” Calum also provided a cup of water with a straw. “If you’re feeling up to it, do you want to try sitting?”

Thea closed her eyes as the hypo took effect she let out a sigh of relief and a nod as she moved to sit up. The cup was the first thing she reached for because her throat was dry. “The runabout exploded, Oliver was in the other escape pod when it did. Are you sure he wasn’t found also?” She asked looking to the doctor needing to know what happened to Ollie…

“All I know is your pod was the only one brought on board, Miss Queen,” he replied softly. “The captain wanted me to let her know when I was going to wake you up. I haven’t yet. I thought you might want a few minutes to collect yourself before potential interrogation. I can give her a call, and you can ask her about Oliver. Unfortunately, my information regarding your retrieval ends here, with you.” Calum frowned, “I can look into it for you, if you’d like, personally. I do have some contacts in the area that could help. At least let them know there is another escape pod in the area where we found yours.”

Thea gave a nod, “I’d really appreciate that actually,” She really would knowing what might have happened to her brother would at least make it easier for her, however, she hadn’t expected the doctor that she’d never met before would offer to help her. She did have a little giggle over the interrogation part that made her wince in pain slightly. “More a concerned parent than a true interrogation,” She added thinking of how Avri Byrd hadn’t actually wanted to let her leave to begin with.

“I’ve got a privacy barrier up around us now, would you like me to get you a uniform? Or are you comfortable in the medical scrubs for now? Now that you’re awake and alert, I should inform Captain Byrd. If there is anything I can get you, please do not hesitate. Also, I know we’ve got a counselor on board, but if you’d like to talk, I am also available.”

Uniform, the last time she wore a uniform was before she left with her bother, how long ago was that? “I’ll take the uniform,” Thea said with a slight smile she’d feel more comfortable in her uniform than in scrubs. “Thank you, trust me I think right now I’d probably prefer the doc I’ve just met to the counselor I might not know,” Thea admitted.

He chuckled softly and nodded. “I’ll be right back.” Calum stepped through the field, and though no one could see in, she could still see out. Crossing the facility to a replicator, he accessed Thea’s measurements and produced the appropriately colored complete uniform. Carrying all of the pieces back, he set them on the bed for her. “Here, everything you need and it should fit. I’ll call Captain Byrd while you change. Just tap this screen here,” he pointed to one of the panels on the bed. “This will lower the privacy field. I would suggest you wait for the captain to arrive, before leaving. If you’re hungry, and I’m sure you are, you can eat in my office.”

Thea gave a nod, “Thanks Doc.” She said and waited for him to leave again before carefully getting off the bio-bed so she could get changed into her uniform. Once dressed she tapped the screen where he had indicated and went to replicate tomato soup, grilled cheese, and a glass of milk she was craving it and Thea always gave in to her food cravings. It's why she had to train so much harder to stay in shape. Having a fast metabolism helped as well. She took it all back to the bio-bed to eat while she waited for the captain.
