There's an open bar, alcohol and hot chocolate as well of plenty of other beverages.

Not to mention the oodles of cookies, cold cuts, pizza and finger foods.

Pot stickers, kabobs, egg rolls with various stuffings. I heard one has bacon, chicken and cheese.(edited)

Good evening everyone. I will keep it short and sweet so we can get our party on. We will pick up next week and there is only about 15 minutes between last week's sim and the one next week.
So if there's no question we can get our drink... Er um party on.

::grabs a strong drink and some vittles then finds an empty table to sit at since she really hasn't made a lot of friends so far::
Lt. Cmdr Kai Makorie :
::Steps in and looks around a moment. She really hated these kinds of functions, but she didn't want the crew to think she didn't like them, so she suffered through them.::
Ens. Langsbury :
Jehane-- fixes up a drink for herself as well grabbing some of the finger foods. She then heads over for a corner seat at one of the furtherest tables to spend her time at the party

:: walks in behind Kai:: Cmdr. Glad to see you decided to come.

Ari-- brings in a carrot cake yule log decorated appropriately to be added to the dessert table
Cmdr Queen/Lt. Smoke :
Smoke> ::Plops out of the turbolift and down into where the party is, in a well of enough a mood. Coming in and popping over to look around.::
Lt. Cmdr Kai Makorie :
::Taking a look around, she didn't see anything that really appealed to her, so she went to the replicator and got a bowl of Carolina reaper chili with habanero tortilla chips to eat it with and a glass of unsweetened iced tea and finds a table::
::Looks behind her at the Captain:: I attend, Sir. I just don't tend to mix it up.
Laurel Lance :
::digs into her meal and sips her drink as she watches her crewmates::

::Finds a seat next to Laurel:: Not a fan of parties either, I take it?

::Comes out from behind from here the galley was, smiling out to everyone.::

::glances up at Kai:: Not particularly. I would much rather spend my time on more useful endeavors.

Jehane-- growls almost inaudibly at anyone who gets too close to the table she's at

::Ravynn had the music cued to more up beat music.::

I agree. But we have to at least appear to be social or other crewmembers talk about you being an ice queen and unapproachable. Even though in every other setting you are pleasant. It's a balancing act, all these social niceties. ::Dips a chip into the chili and almost moans in pleasure at the heat as it hits her.::
Laurel Lance :
I figure I can sneak out in about 10 minutes and go to engineering. I am sure there is a long list of items that need attention.

Ari-- works with the catering crew to make sure that the food was replaced regularly when it got too low
Cmdr Queen/Lt. Smoke :
Smoke> ::Starts with going over to the food and grabbing a plate. Looking over those and grabbing what caught her eye.::

I think social niceties are over rated. But you are correct. One must appear to be social when required.

It's certainly decorated beautifully and I live carrot cake. I can't wait to try it.

I was wondering, why at all these parties, is the food all dedicated to those who prefer sweets? What about those of us who prefer the spicy to sweets. I had to replicate something because everything here was either sweet or bland. Perhaps, next time, we could including something a bit more.....lively.

Maybe to the unrefined pallet. ::The heat of the spices still in the empty bowl and on her breath:: But for those who appreciate things beyond sweet, there is a whole new concept, called spice. You really should try it sometime.
