I’m not sure I like what is going on. Dimitri still seems hell bent to get himself banned from touching anything with his way of doing things. During this ... event... for lack of a better term, He was ready to create a new power system from spare EPS conduits. While the idea is interesting, it wouldn’t have been a solution to the problem at hand. We HAD power. That was plain to see, but just about everything that could monitor the ship systems in any way simply blacked out. It felt like a very long time, even as much as a few days, but it was only less than two seconds. I still haven’t spoken directly to anyone outside of engineering but I’ve heard others talking in the corridors. Some say they were near the viewports and could see outside the ship and what they saw was absolutely beautiful. Someone said something about actually seeing the shields pop like a balloon. I think they were exaggerating, a lot.

There’s a lot of work to be done now to figure out what happened. I remember seeing all the sparks from consoles and smoke from both cores so I know that there has to be some sort of damage. The question is just what kind. We have several teams looking over every piece of equipment on this ship.
Hopefully we will figure this out quickly and find a way to prevent something like this from happening again. But right now, I am just so tired. I Know it only lasted about a second or so, but my body is telling me something different. Or perhaps it’s just the thought of it that is exhausting me. I’ve no idea what the next steps will be. And quite frankly, I have to admit, this situation terrifies me.

I just hope that whatever affected the ship hasn’t also affected us. Maybe that’s why I feel so tired right now. I am having a hard time thinking straight with all the thoughts racing through my mind. I need to shut off and sleep. So that is what I will try to do, once we see what damage has been done. And who knows how long that will take. I just pray that no one decides to try to fix something without reporting the damage first. We need to know what was affected, and then work out the best course of action.

Right now I think a thorough diagnostics would be advisable. That should help find any issues we might have.
