The party was over, and Laurel still had her gift for Heather. She carried the large box down to the medical deck and entered sickbay in the hopes of giving it to Heather. She just hoped that Heather would like what she'd gotten for her. After she walked into sickbay she asked a nurse if Heather was up to see a visitor.

It had been hours since Heather had left the party, plenty of time for the new mother to have delivered her twins into this world with the help of the medical staff and her husband. The nurse in question looked up to see Lt. Jg. Lance before her. "Yes, ma'am she's resting in room one at the moment." the nurse answered pointing her in the right direction.

"Thank you," Laurel replied and made her way towards room one. She paused at the door before she entered, "Dr. Argeneau, Is it all right if I come in?"

Heather looked up at Laurel as she stood in the doorway. The doctor had been laying with her eyes closed just relaxing, but she was already bored and ready to get out of bed. Unfortunately, Her nurses were all mutineers telling her that she had to stay in that bed or they'd pull medical on her. With a smile Heather motioned for her to enter, "Please call me Heather, we're clearly off duty," She said in a soft relaxed tone.

Laurel smiled nervously. She was so far out of her comfort zone, dealing with the doctor on a more personal level, "I hope I am not intruding, umm, Heather, but I have your secret Santa gift and, well, I thought maybe... I mean if you are up to it, you might want to see what it was."
Heather’s gift was in a larger box, The wrapping paper was silver snowflakes on a blue background, with a large silver bow.

Heather smiled softly at Laurel, "Thank you, I would love to see what it is, Laurel, it is ok if I call you Laurel?" Heather asked sensing the younger woman's nervousness.

Laurel nodded with a small smile, "we are off duty, so I think it's alright, Heather. How are you feeling?"

Heather laughed softly, "I'll be honest I'm bored laying in this bed, Though the twins seem content to sleep rather than scream their heads off which I was expecting." She smirked. "My staff has decided that I am to stay in this bed for one night regardless." She shrugged as if there was no help for it. She held her hands out for the beautifully wrapped gift.

"Twins?" Laurel said in surprise, "You had Twins? Oh my goodness you must be exhausted!" She handed the package to Heather and stepped back slightly.

"Yes Twins," Heather smiled tiredly, "Oh I am, I am just bored, to be honest." She smiled looking like a child sometimes. Christmas was something that even her family still did though after about 50 years of gift-giving it gets boring, no childlike joy until that hundred-year mark is up and they can have another. Now that they had twins, Morgensen and Heather would need to be careful. they couldn't have another child for 200 years because there was the risk of well outnumbering the food source. Yes, that sounded well really bad to think it, but it was, in all honesty, they did need blood to survive, but they needed to be careful because well people would think they were soulless monsters.

Heather ripped the wrapping paper off the large box before moving to open it and see what was inside of it.

Inside the box were two smaller gifts, one wrapped gold the other in red both with green bows.

"Oh presents inside of a present box." She giggled and clapped her hands like a child, but she was in fact older than most of the crew. She reached for the gold wrapped one first and opened it.

Inside the Gold, box were several handmade items for the Baby (not realizing there would be two of them): different colored layettes (2 sets in various shades of greens and yellow since she had no idea of the sex of the infant ) And a small musical light for the baby’s room with “Winnie the Pooh “ motif.

"Oh my gods these are so cute they'll love them, Ok so they won't even notice them but I'll love them in these." She giggled happily. folding them neatly she put them back in the box and reached for the box wrapped in red.

Inside the Red box: An antique set of medical tools in a display case. (Stethoscope, scalpel, suture needle, PB Cuff, Oral Thermometer) Each labeled as to what it was and a brief description of what it was commonly used for. Laurel watched nervously as Heather opened the second gift. She really hoped that Heather would like it.

"Oh now this is rare, even back home on earth we do not see even a stethoscope, but thank you this will definitely come in handy I mean what happens if we're ever out of power and nothing works, I would need these tools. Thank you Laurel for this thoughtful and very useful gift." Heather said giving her a soft smile.

Laurel sighed in relief, "I am so glad you like it. I had a hard time trying to figure out what to get for you. Oh, that light has a music chip in it. It plays a lot of soft songs like Brahms's Lullaby, and a song called "All through the night". You can add other songs that you like as well."

"Oh, that is perfect the twins like music, every time I played music for them they moved a lot." She grinned looking over at the sleeping twins.

Laurel looked in the same direction that Heather glanced at and saw the twins sleeping. "Oh my, I didn't even realize they were here, they are so quiet!" While she may have wanted to see them, she kept her distance, "I always thought babies were really noisy, at least that's what my mother always said."

"Mine too," Heather smiled, "Though they were loud a lot earlier I mean they really let us know they were here. My mom also told me that some babies sleep through the night right away, while some don't." She said smiling at the two.

Laurel smiled, "I guess that's sort of normal then." She looked back to Heather, "I should leave and let you get some rest. Congratulations on the twins."

"Thank you for my gifts," Heather smiled.

"You're welcome, Heather," Laurel glanced once more at the sleeping babies and then exited the room.
